This is Randall's 4th and final release which featured a lecture he created with his original music in his little improvised studio/dining room in August of 1981. The background music was improvised in June 1981 but never given a name. The text was called "The Now and Future Tradition of Music" and was self-published under "Rana Press" in 1979. It became the basis of his book "The Healing Forces of Music" published by Amity Publishers in 1987. The original cassette was released by a now defunct company called "The Greater Spiral" out of Portland OR in 1985.

"Empty Sky" on side two was created on April 23, 1983 (2 days after his 43rd birthday) at 3:00 to 3:28 PM on a warm spring day at his studio in Amherst MA. It has never been played in public and as far as he knows, has never been heard by anyone. It remains his favorite for the emptiness of the sounds, the slow emergence of the texture and the clarity of the melodic layering of the unfolding continuously evolving material - very restful like gazing at an empty blue sky with slow-moving cumulus clouds while lying on your back on a soft palette of green grass.
